AHKAH's high-quality diamonds are rigorously selected based on the "4Cs" (carat, cut, color, and clarity) by our highly experienced appraiser who has earned an academic credential from the Gemological Institute of America as a Graduate Gemologist(GIA GG).
carat
Carat (ct) is a unit to determine the weight of gemstones including diamonds. One carat is equivalent to 0.2 g, and the higher the carat is, the greater rarity value of the gemstone.
color
Color grades start with "D" for diamond and are divided into 23 levels through "Z." Colorless D-grade is the rarest. As more colorless diamonds they are, valued higher.
AHKAH engagement rings feature diamonds graded H and above, with the majority in the D to F range (Colorless).
cut
"Cut" is the only diamond assessment criterion that is affected by human skill. Three elements (proportion, polish and symmetry) are assessed with five grades from Excellent to Poor.
A diamond with Excellent grades for all three elements, it is referred to as a "Triple Excellent" or 3EX diamond. Masterfully skilled diamond cutter has produced the maximum brilliance.
AHKAH engagement rings feature mainly 3EX diamonds.
clarity
Clarity grading measures purity of a diamond; the grades are based on examining for inclusions (internal flaws) under 10x magnification. The fewer inclusions a diamond has and the more transparent it is, the higher its rarity and value are.
AHKAH engagement rings feature diamonds ranging from the extremely rare Flawless (FL) and Internally Flawless (IF) grades through the Very Slightly Included (VS) grades.
